There’s a pair of leather boots I’ve been lusting after for months now. They were $189, and that’s about $140 more than I try to spend on footwear. I don’t need boots. I rarely wear boots. But, damn, are they nice looking.
So, today, I was out running errands and popped into the store with the boots. No, I wasn’t going to visit the boots. I’m actually trying to find a nice new blouse in case I get called for an interview. But, there they were, right under a big 50% sale sign. Ah, but you know how this works. They’ll have a size 10 and a size 6 and that will be it, right? Nope. They had my size. In fact, it was the only pair they had left and they didn’t think they’d be getting any more in. So my dream boots were marked down to $79, they were in my size, and sitting in my wallet was a gift card for that store that I’d gotten as a birthday present in the amount of $40.
Sometimes the universe tries to tell you things. It’s in your best interest to listen. I love my new boots! (yes, I will post a picture, but I have to wait for my photographer to get home. I’m not doing so good taking a pic of them myself.)
*Update – Got distracted and forgot to have Shannon take a photo of me in the boots, so here’s a picture of them by themselves. Now I need a stunning outfit to go with them.
Ooo..lucky day!
pix please! definitely begging to be bought. nice find!
Holy cow – I LOVE those! Good for you!
Sexy. 🙂
You know that buying those is the charm that will ensure:
1) You will get pregnant this cycle
2) Your feet will swell horribly
3) They will never actually go back to their regular size.
Wear them now because for the next 5 years they will sit in your closet and taunt you as your child smears mashed bananas in your hair. And then you will sadly give them away because you will have finally faced the truth that your feet will never fit those boots again.
I had to laugh– you got just about the same shoe price limit as I do.
These are niiiiiiiiice. Glad you happened by the store just then.
I soooo love days like this. They come so infrequently, but man do they make you feel like someone’s looking out for your better interests.
Can’t wait to see the outfit . . . .
Good golly. You will be like Nancy Sinatra in those!
