Whew. We’re finally, FINALLY, starting to see some improvement on the digestive front. This past weekend is the first time I’ve actually found myself feeling truly hungry AND looking forward to eating. Things have been a little more up and down the past three days, but I blame circumstances out of my control rather than [...]

An ending too soon

My mother-in-law passed away yesterday at noon.
After several months of dealing with an extremely critical high blood pressure problem, she suffered a severe brain hemmorhage Sunday morning.
She was a very caring, warm, generous person. She spent her career working to build and improve the school system in which she was employed, first as an elementary school teacher, then later as a vice-principal.
The past [...]

How your baby’s growing:
Head to bottom, your baby’s 3 1/2 inches long — about the length of a lemon — and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. Her body’s growing faster than her head, which now sits upon a more well-defined neck. By the end of this week, her arms will have lengthened and will be [...]

It was a technicolor weekend, to say the least.
After much introspection, I’ve determined that it isn’t nausea. I don’t get that watery mouth, clammy skin, shaky feeling that accompanies the roiling stomach of nausea. Instead, what I get occurs after a meal in which I have the audacity to eat more than four or five bites of food. I’m left feeling [...]

That’s how long I’ve gone without tossing my cookies and I almost shouldn’t count Monday night…I was beyond exhausted from getting up at 4:30am edt to catch a 6am flight that left late, got redirected to Austin because of the weather and didn’t arrive in Dallas until 2.5 hours after it’s scheduled arrival time, THEN going to [...]

Finally broke down and called the peri to see what last week’s scan results were. Only had to be on hold for 15 minutes this time.
Completely normal! I wasn’t really worried, but it’s nice to have that confirmation. And it’s REALLY nice to know that I don’t have to think about amniocentesis anymore. Now to just pass the time until next Wednesday’s OB [...]

Thirteen weeks today. Things are slowly improving, I think. The fatigue that was so crushing before is getting a little better. Some nights I can actually make it through Stephen Colbert before I have to drag myself to bed. The nausea is improving. I’ve taken the zofran a few times, but I have managed to [...]
Is this normal?

So, I’m really starting to think the doctor was overly rough with me yesterday when he tried to use the transducer to bounce Baby B into a better position. The lower part of my entire abdomen feels like one big bruise. There’s no discoloration, but it’s sore to the touch and if I move too [...]

Zofran. That’s all I’m sayin’. Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease let it work.
NT scan seems to have gone well. Baby B didn’t want to cooperate and started off doing a headstand, then moved to lay on it’s side, back to us. The perinatologist apparently forgot that he was working on a real person who has been suffering from bad nausea, because he poked me repeatedly with the transducer to shake the babies [...]
