Well, purchasing two infant car seats will certainly help drive home the fact that you’re having twins! On a whim, we stopped in at a car dealership on Saturday to take a look at one of the cars we’re considering and discovered that we really like it and it meets both my requirements and S’s [...]

A taste of normalcy

I had my first OB appointment today. I really, really like this doctor. She’s maybe a few years old than me. She has twin boys, who are the result of ART. She was a patient at my clinic. When I told her that while I have no problem of using every modern miracle of medicine [...]
half a point

That’s all I needed. They wanted to see a 15 on the progesterone test and I got 14.5. That half a point wins me another week of shots and pills. Dammit.
More tummy troubles too. I got my first public session in the parking lot of the clinic. Fortunately, breakfast had been a slice of toast and a glass of milk. That ranks a close second to bananas [...]
Catching up

So, yesterday was a BAD DAY. It started out with some toothpaste-induced nausea (it always hits me when I spit and rinse) that led to the return of my early morning banana. Let me just say, if you have to lose your breakfast, banana has to be the best option. Once the shakes from that had past, I finished getting ready and went on [...]
Of course not.

So, either the nurse who told me I could do the test today miscounted, or misunderstood what day I was on. Anyway, Dr. N prefers to wait until 9 1/2 weeks to do the progesterone test and I’ll just be at 9 weeks tomorrow. So, a few more days of PIO and estrace (and yes, [...]

Tomorrow is the big day…we’re doing the progesterone test! Tonight I get to skip both the estrace pills and the PIO shot so that, tomorrow morning, we can test my blood levels. If I pass the test, I’m finished with both of them!!! Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease let me pass the test.

I’m sorry, I know I’ve been bad about posting.
So, I’ve been taking vitamin B6 and unisom now for almost a week and it seems
to be keeping the nausea under control. I’ve had a few less-than pleasant moments, but nothing like before. Between that and the occasional Tums, I think I’ve got the digestive issues under control. Now I’m just struggling with not having much of an appetite. [...]
Week 8

Today’s sono looked good. Heartbeats are so loud now and you can actually tell what’s head, body, and yolk sac now.
Morning sickness…well not so much morning as rest of the day sickness…has started to be an issue. I’m giving vitamin b-6 and unisom a try to see if it will keep the nausea under control. [...]
Could it be the last one?

If our current vial of PIO lasts through Sunday night, then the vial I received this morning could be the last one! We get 10 doses from a vial, and that SHOULD get us through to the progesterone withdrawal test. Assuming I pass that, NO MORE SHOTS!!! Happy dance! I’m tired of having circles [...]
At least then, there was pretty scenery

As a child, I went to summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Every trip there and every trip home, three weeks later, was inevitably marred by the need to pull over so I could throw up. Sitting in the backseat, riding along that twisty highway always made me carsick. It’d start with me feeling [...]
