All about me
What happens when a not-so-grown up pair of 30-somethings decide to try to have a kid? It's sometimes funny, frequently heart-wrenching, never boring. Ok, sometimes boring.
The latest chapter in our lives deals with the deaths of our twins, born 16 weeks premature and how we figure out where we go from here.

Beautiful! I am so impressed. Quilting is something I think is such a valuable thing – I’d love to learn one day but have never made it happen.
It really isn’t that scary. I actually made my first quilt square as a project for my 8th grade social studies class. I even made onion skin dye to color half the fabric. It was a churn-dash square that I sewed completely by hand. : )
For me, the hardest part is standing in the fabric store trying to figure out if that fabric that I like on the bolt is going to look right when I hack it up into 3″ squares. Start with simple patterns. The older block patterns are the easiest, and usually work best with two colors. Save anything with triangles until you are more comfortable. And just like in carpentry, measure twice, cut once. Then, lay everything out on the floor before you sew. With the Around the World quilt, I actually had to take a photo of it before I started sewing so I could remember the order of all the squares!
Just making a single block and turning it into a pillow or a pot holder, or just framing it to hang on the wall is great fun and very quick!
Hmmm, now I’m starting to sound like Martha Stewart, so I’m going to shut up now.
WOW beautiful!!!! I collect quilts but don’t have the whatever to make my own. BEAUTIFUL!
Those are gorgeous…I so want to learn how to sew. Someday!
Wow, these are incredible quilts! I quilt also, though I haven’t added anything to my blog to show it yet. I have this book called “Get Crafty – Hip Home Ec” which helps you figure out what kind of crafty things would be the best projects based on your interests… I love quilting because it’s so varied, there’s so many different ways to do it.
Great job on the quilts, nice color choices!!
